Conor & Sami A Venue at Twelve Oaks Fall Wedding

“I prayed for you before I called you mine. I can’t believe it’s true. I get to love you. It’s the best thing I get to do. It’s a promise I’m making to you. Forever, I’m yours. Forever, I do.” -Ruelle

Sami and Conor exchanged heart-felt handwritten vows during their first look on their wedding day. They weren’t words scribbled onto a napkin moments before, but words that were thoughtfully and intentionally chosen (and typed). “I will choose you over and over” were words that both of them included in their vows, which tells you how in sync they are. Their first look wasn’t just like all of the others. Sami hid her face behind her bouquet so she couldn’t see Conor until it was time to walk up behind him. To her, the first look wasn’t all about revealing her wedding dress to her groom. Seeing him for the first time on their wedding day was just as significant to her. There were nerves, laughter, tears, and Ben Rector quotes.

“It’s the way you’re smiling at me, it’s in the way you hold my hand. It’s the way I’ve watched you change me from a boy into a man. It’s a million things about you, and I don’t know what it is, but I have never known a love like this.” – Ben Rector

Those are the lyrics of the song that Conor played and sang to Sami as a wedding gift, and they are oh so fitting. Throughout the day, we heard how special their bond is, how they were absolutely made for each other, and how they are better because of each other. Conor and Sami are the definition of soul mates.

Their dream for their wedding day was to be married outside on Sami’s family land on a beautiful November day. God had other plans, and when the forecast showed definite rain, they chose to move it to an indoor venue. It rained all morning and up until time for their first look, even though the radar showed rain nowhere in sight. But guess what. They decided to go out in the rain anyway, and as we walked outside, the rain STOPPED! We could feel God smiling down on us.

Conor and Sami, thank you for being an example of real love. The challenges you have faced already with health, relationships, and opening a bakery a month before your wedding have only made you stronger. Thank you for the honor of telling your story, because it’s one that the world NEEDS to hear. Congratulations, Mr. & Mrs. Brown!!
